Adults Ministries

Throughout the year, Highlands Church offers a variety of short-term Bible studies designed to help you grow in your faith and connect with others. Most studies last 4 to 6 weeks and are led by Pastor Rick or other church leaders. Whether you're new to Bible study or have been studying Scripture for years, everyone is welcome to join. Contact the church office for more information. 

Join us for Adult Discipleship Class on Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM or 9:00 AM! Each class typically works through a book study lasting anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks, offering a great opportunity to dive deeper into Scripture and grow in faith alongside others. Newcomers are always welcome—whether you're joining for a single study or planning to stay long-term, there’s a seat for you. A few times a year, we come together for our All Church Events (ACE Events)—and there’s always something to look forward to! Our ACE Coordinators plan a delicious meal, entertainment, and a fun theme for each gathering. It’s a wonderful way to relax, laugh, and build stronger connections within our church family. Throughout the year, we host a variety of church-wide Fellowship Events—special times for our church family to gather, celebrate, and connect. Some of our favorite traditions include the Easter Continental Breakfast, Veterans Day Celebration, and a Christmas Luncheon. Each event is made possible by a wonderful team of Highlands Church volunteers who help plan, set up, decorate, serve, and clean up—making sure every gathering is meaningful and fun for everyone. We’d love for you to join us at our next event... and if you’d like to lend a hand, there’s always room for more helpers!

Did you know Highlands Church has not one, but two libraries? Tucked into the narthex area of the Sanctuary, our collections are full of books, movies, and more—ready for you to explore! The Library Annex offers a wide variety of Christian devotionals, non-fiction inspiration, audiobooks, DVD movies (including plenty for kids), paperback fiction, and a special collection curated by Highlands Methodist Women (HMW). Just across the way, our second Library Room features a great selection of hardback fiction and Christian fiction titles—perfect for anyone looking to curl up with a good read. Stop by and discover something new!

If you love to knit, crochet, or just enjoy good conversation and a warm cup of fellowship, you’re invited to join the Stitchers! This welcoming group meets twice a month (September through May) to work on personal projects or contribute to meaningful ministries like Prayer Shawls and Prayer Squares—patterns are provided for anyone who’d like to help. All skill levels are welcome, and so are new faces. Call the church office to confirm meeting times and come stitch with us!

The Highlanders, our Methodist men’s group, are a brotherhood of men dedicated to serving both our church and community. They meet monthly from September through May in either the morning or evening, depending on the time of year. Meeting agendas will vary from a meal prepared in-house with a devotional and speaker to a hands-on community project with a carry-out lunch to a “how to” demonstration for the group. The Highlanders also support a number of local charities through direct contributions and service projects. Men are encouraged to participate by sharing their skills and talents and joining in fellowship with other Christian men. In addition, all men are invited to take part in a weekly Men’s Bible Study as a way to help them grow in their discipleship. Every man at Highlands Church is considered a member of the Highlanders. All men of Highlands Church are also invited to join a Bible Study group—offered in the Matthew Classroom on Monday evenings from 4:00–5:00 PM or Tuesday evenings from 5:00–6:00 PM. Bring your Bible and be part of the journey!

Rooted in faith and energized by fellowship, HMW brings women together to grow spiritually, support one another, and serve with heart. We believe in the power of unity—lifting each other up through prayer, worship, study, and shared experiences. Whether it’s bonding over breakfast, diving into service projects, or simply showing up for one another, we’re cultivating a sisterhood built on love and purpose. Our mission goes beyond ourselves—we’re passionate about supporting women and children’s charities in Northwest Arkansas and being Christ’s hands and feet wherever compassion is needed. HMW is where faith meets friendship, and service becomes a joy. If you're looking for a space to laugh, learn, pray, and make a real impact, come join us!
