Life brings seasons of both joy and hardship, and you don't have to walk through them alone. At Highlands Church, we're committed to caring for one another through prayer, encouragement, support groups, and compassionate ministries that offer hope, comfort, and practical help when it's needed most.

Care Groups are a meaningful way for congregants of Highlands Church to stay connected, supported, and encouraged throughout the year. Each person is placed into a small group that becomes an extended church family—a place where lasting relationships can grow. Groups are encouraged to connect at least once a month, whether in person or by phone, to build strong bonds and share life together. These groups offer encouragement, prayer, and practical support during times of need, and they also enjoy moments of fellowship—through cards, visits, and occasional gatherings. Everyone is encouraged to participate if they desire. It’s a simple, powerful way to experience the love of Christ through community. Call the church office to get involved.
Our Compassionate Care Team is made up of caring volunteers who reach out to members of our church family who are homebound, hospitalized, grieving, or facing other difficult life circumstances. Through phone calls, cards, personal visits, and prayer, they offer encouragement, connection, and Christ-centered care during life's challenges. Whether celebrating joyful milestones or walking alongside someone in a difficult season, this ministry seeks to remind people they are loved, supported, and never alone. If you know someone who could benefit from Compassionate Care—or if you feel called to serve in this ministry—please contact the church office.
We believe in the power of prayer. The goal of our Prayer Ministry is to encourage everyone in the Highlands family to pray frequently and reverently while helping people grow in their prayer lives. Whether you're new to prayer or have prayed for years, we seek to provide guidance, encouragement, and opportunities for both personal and corporate prayer. If you have a heart for prayer and would like to help strengthen this ministry, we'd love to have you join us. Our Prayer Chapel, located in the Ministries Activity Center across from the Pastor's office, is open Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM, and Friday, 8:30 AM–Noon. Whether you choose to sit quietly, kneel at the altar rail, or simply spend a few moments with God, you are always welcome.
GriefShare is a safe and welcoming place for anyone grieving the loss of a family member or friend. Through video teaching, group discussion, and personal study, participants find comfort, understanding, and practical guidance for navigating grief. New 13-week sessions are offered two to three times each year, and everyone is welcome, whether your loss is recent or many years ago. Contact the church office or visit griefshare.org to learn about the next session.
Our Loving Hearts team is a group of caring volunteers who help provide refreshments—like cookies, coffee, and tea—following memorial services held at Highlands Church. It's a simple but meaningful way to offer comfort, hospitality, and support to grieving families and friends during a tender time. If you’d like to be part of this ministry of kindness, we’d love to have you. Just contact the church office to learn more.
Our Columbarium and Memorial Garden, located on the church grounds, provides a peaceful and sacred space to remember and honor loved ones. It is available to current and former members of Highlands Church, as well as their immediate families (spouse and children). You are welcome to visit this quiet area anytime—it’s located on the south side of our Ministries Activity Center. Brochures are available on the Information Wall just outside the church office. For more details, please contact the office at 479-855-2277, and we’ll connect you with a member of our Columbarium Committee.
